About
Project Nomen

We all die twice.
The first time, when we leave this world.
The second, when our name is spoken for the last time.

Project Nomen (Nomen is Latin for "name") was born
from a simple idea: to prevent the "second death" -
the death of a name.

We want to ensure that the names of the people we
love continue to be spoken, heard, and honoured.

The concept is simple: record or upload an audio
message of up to 30 seconds. The message can be a
dedication to a loved one who has passed, words of
memory, or simply the act of speaking their name.

Once uploaded, the recording becomes part of
Project Nomen and is played continuously, indefinitely.
Your loved one's name will always have a home here.

Every day, the names entrusted to us are remembered aloud.
And as long as Project Nomen exists, we will continue
to speak them - so that their memory can live on.

This is more than a collection of recordings.
It is a living tradition: a promise that the people
we love will never have to be forgotten.

About
The Tree of Names

The next chapter of Project Nomen.

The Tree of Names is a monumental bronze sculpture of a tree standing alone at the top of a hill - a place of remembrance.

The tree represents our roots, our genealogy, our heritage and our legacy. Its branches reach upward, while its leaves remind us of those who have fallen from our family trees - the people we have loved, lost, and carry with us.

Within the hollow of its trunk, the recordings from Project Nomen will be played back - allowing the names of the remembered to be heard from within the tree itself.

A physical place, open to everyone. A place where every belief is welcome, because remembrance belongs to us all.

Our vision is to create, one day, a place where the names of the remembered are spoken without end - where, even when no one remains to speak them, their names continue to be heard.

The Tree of Names does not exist yet. It will be erected once Project Nomen has identified a suitable location, obtained the necessary permits, and secured the funding required to bring it to life.
